URGENT: Proposed Redistricting Map Will Severely Harm Liberty in Gallatin County
Montana is currently redrawing Montana house districts. The current map they have drawn is very clearly gerrymandering, and will severely hurt the prospect for more liberty in Montana. For example, they gerrymandered Bozeman and Belgrade into being in the same districts, effectively eliminating Belgrade votes by flooding it with Bozeman voters.
If this map is adopted our state will remain gerrymandered for the next 10 years. We need your help to stop this from happening.
To do that, you can submit comments to the committee. The deadline is just a few days away so it’s now or never. Here is an example of what you could say:
“This map is clearly not a compact district. Bozeman and Belgrade have been split into slivers, connecting the two towns. This is textbook pinwheel Gerrymandering. Please reject this map, and draw a map that is compact and will represent voters better.”
